About SERPHI

South Ethiopia Region Public Health Institute (SERPHI) is established by the council of South Ethiopia Regional State under Decree as of 27/2016. The institute is accountable for the regional health bureau.

Vision

The vision of the South Ethiopia Region Public Health Institute is to achieve optimal health and well-being for all communities in the South Ethiopia Region through equitable access to quality healthcare, effective public health policies and programs that address both current and emerging health challenges, empowered populations and resilient public health system, and fostered collaboration and partnership among various stakeholders.

Mission

The mission of the South Ethiopia Region Public Health Institute (SERPHI) is to improve public health outcomes in the South Ethiopia Region and Ethiopia at large through undertaking research on priority public health issues for evidence-based information utilization and technology transfer; effective and efficient public health emergency management; establishing quality laboratory system; and training public health researchers and practitioners for best public health interventions.
