It has been stated that in order to prevent and control vaccine-preventable diseases, it is important to make quality and safe vaccines available to all children.
The Southern Ethiopian Regional Public Health Institute in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) has held a discussion forum on Measles, Polio and other diseases that can be prevented by vaccination and other activities in Arbaminch city.The regional institute of public health has presented the 2017 E.M. Measles, polio and other preventable diseases and the second round of integrated polio vaccination campaign performance report and reviewed.Mr. Mintesnot Melka, the vice director of the regional Institute of Public Health, has emphasized that quality and safe vaccines should be made available to all children and to prevent vaccinated against diseases that can occur due to epidemic such as measles, polio and others.Mr. Mentesnot stressed that the measles epidemic that happened in 11 woredas in the fiscal year was possible to control. Efforts to get rid of the threat of epidemic should continue.Mr. Mintesnot Aklewum in the second round of polio vaccination campaign 1,537,904 (108%) children under the age of 5 have been vaccinated. In conjunction with the campaign, mothers with birth related urinary tract control problems (fistula), identification and treatment, vaccinating children who have not access to regular vaccination schedule and who have stopped vaccination, with plague. Prevention and Response also stated that MPOCs has achieved better results and thanked health professionals, leadership, non-governmental partners and all stakeholders who contributed to the success.The regional public health institute leaders and experts, World health organization (WHO) representatives, zone, district and city administration public health emergency control coordinators have participated in the discussion. The discussion that has been going on for two consecutive days has been concluded by giving an orientation aimed at setting the focus directions and strengthening the coordination of polio-like diseases that are going on in the future.

የክልሉ ህብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት የ2017 ዓ ም ኩፍኝ ፣ፖሊዮ እና ሌሎች በክትባት መከላከል የሚቻሉ በሽታዎች ቅኝትና ምላሽና እንዲሁም ሁለተኛ ዙር የተቀናጀ ፖሊዮ ክትባት ዘመቻ አፈጻጸም ሪፖርት ቀርቦ ዉይትት ተደርጓል፡፡
የክልሉ ህብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት ም/ዳይሬክተር የሆኑት አቶ ምንተስኖት መልካ በመልእክታቸው ጥራትና ደህንነቱ የተጠበቀ ክትባት ለሁሉም ህጻናት ተደራሽ በማድረግ በወረርሽኝ መልክ ሊከሰቱ የሚችሉ በክትባት የሚከላከሉ በሽታዎች እንደ ኩፍኝ ፣ፖሊዮና ሌሎችን ለመከላከል፣በወቅቱ ለመለየትና ለመቆጣጠር በቅንጅት መሰራት እንዳለበት አሳስቧል፡፡
በበጀት ዓመቱ በክልላችን በ11 ወረዳዎች የተከሰተዉን የኩፍኝ ወረርሽኝ መቆጣጠር የተቻለ መሆኑን ገልጸው፣አሁንም ከወረርሽኝ ስጋት ለመላቀቅ የሚደረጉ ጥረቶች ተጠናክረዉ መቀጠል አንዳለበት አቶ ምንተስኖት አጽኖት ሰጥተዋል፡፡
አቶ ምንተስኖት አክለዉም በሁለተኛ ዙር በተቀናጀ ፖሊዮ ክትባት ዘመቻ ላይ 1,537,904 (108%) እድሜያቸዉ ከ5 ዓመት በታች የሆኑ ህጻናት የክትባት አገልግሎት ያገኙ ሲሆን ከዘመቻዉ ጋር ተቀናጅተው በተሰሩ ከወሊድ ጋር የተያያዘ የሽንትና ሰገራ መቆጣጣር ችግር ያለባቸው እናቶች(ፊስቱላ) ልየታና ህክምና፣ በመደበኛ ክትባት መርሃ ግብር ተደራሽ ያልሆኑና ክትባት ጀምሮ ያቋረጡ ህጻናትን በማስከተብ ፣ በወባ መከላከልና ምላሽ ኢንዲሁም በኤም ፖክስ ቅኝት ሰራዎች የተሻለ ዉጤት የተመዘገበ መሆኑን በመግለጽ ለስኬቱ አስተዋጽኦ ላበረከቱት ጤና ባለሙያዎች፣ለአመራር አካላት፣መንግስታዊ ላልሆኑ አጋር ድርጅቶችና ለሁሉም ባለድርሻ አካላት ምስጋና አቅርበዋል፡፡
በውይይቱ ላይ የክልሉ ህብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስትትዩት አመራሮችና ባለሙያዎች፣የአለም ጤና ድርጅት(WHO) ተወካዮች፣የዞን፣የወረዳና ከተማ አስተዳደር የህብረተሰብ ጤና ድንገተኛ አደጋዎች ቁጥጥር አስተባባሪዎች የተሳተፉ ሲሆን የትኩረት አቅጣጫዎችን በማስቀመጥ እና ቀጣይ ጊዜያት የሚሰሩ ፖሊዮ መሰል በሽታን ጨምሮ ሌሎች በክትባት የሚከላከሉ በሽታዎችን ቅኝት ለማጠናከር ያለመ ኦሬንቴሽን በመስጠት ለሁለት ተከታታይ ቀናት ሲካሄድ የቆየው ውይይት ተጠናቅቋል፡፡
