In the second round of polio vaccination campaign in southern Ethiopia region the first day of implementation has been reviewed online.

The situation of the vaccination launching program held at each level, the supply and distribution of vaccines, the situation of coordinated activities, and the implementation of vaccination teams and various issues and solutions of the campaign were discussed.

Deputy head of the regional health bureau and the director of the Institute of Public health Mr. Agune Ashole in his message the launching program that was held in every stage on the first day of the campaign, in all areas of our region, the results were encouraging.

The Director General does not hold back. He stated that in the campaign more than 1.4 million children under the age of 5 will benefit from the service. He stressed that all the authorities should do their part to deliver the vaccination to every parent in a high quality manner.

Activities to be done in conjunction with the campaign i.e. making children under the age of 5 who have not been vaccinated and have stopped vaccinated in the regular vaccination program; identifying mothers with urinary tract problems (fistula) related to childbirth and sending them to medical facilities; strengthening malaria prevention and control activities and M-pox epidemic. They have emphasized that reconciliation and survey works should be done in all structures.

The regional health bureau management members, supporting professionals, the heads of the zone health department and different stakeholders have participated in the discussion.
